I was on one of the last bends on lookout that overviews Clear Creek Canyon Park (the one above the junker car that took the tumble years ago) and I used my binoculars to scour the land. It was close to dusk, and the mulies were coming out. Eventually I started to spot the sheep.
First two wanderers, then the herd the likely were returning to. At least a dozen, sitting happily on the hill, chomping their food. Although the distance was not close, the encounter felt great since they acted naturally with no awareness of being observed.
