The Great Horned Owl was about 24 inches from head to tail and appeared to be well fed.
Just before taking this picture, I watched him swallow what appeared to be a pocket gopher. Good riddance to the pocket gopher. The Great Horned Owl is a welcome visitor to our backyard anytime.
