Grizzly close-up

07/16/99

more: Brown Bear

Touring Yellowstone Park, we spotted a grizzly bear eating an elk that it had killed. We stopped and watched for nearly an hour then, having had its fill, it walked towards us to get back to its den. When the photo was taken, it was approximately 20 feet in front of me. An awesonme, exciting and slightly scary moment.

Well, it was moving rather slowly as it was full - and it looked a lot smaller through the camera lens!
