The unusual birds keep coming.

01/13/10

LocationLonglevens, Gloucester, UK

what: Redwing

This bird, unseen in my garden before, was between a sparrow and a thrush in size. Its colouring was similar to both but it had a definite pale red breast but was certainly not a robin. It was very shy and did not hang around to be photographed. Could it be a stonechat? That is the nearest I have found in my bird book.
