Bighorn sheep are large animals often mistan as 'goats' given they are covered in fur not wool. How to see Bighorn Sheep
Look for bighorn sheep in scattered herds throughout the Rocky Mountains and Southwest. They can typically be found in protected reserves and parks. Bighorn sheep like rocky cliffs, hills and mountains in both cold and hot climates. Bighorn sheep can often be seen on the sides of roads, in part because they lick salt they find by the sides. Further, you can often see them on steep cliffs above road tunnels, and road culverts, since road construction leaves sunny/grassy areas that are inaccessible to many but them. |
